How to Create a Google Review Link and QR Code
How to get your Google review link in two minutes, turn it into a QR code, and share it so customers can review your business in one tap.

A Google review link opens your business's review form directly, so customers don't have to search for you on Google Maps. It's the single easiest way to get more reviews. This guide shows how to create a Google review link, turn it into a QR code, and where to use both.
What you need
- A Google Business Profile for your business. If you don't have one yet, you'll need to create and verify it first. (We can set it up for you.)
- To be signed in to the Google account that manages the profile.
Method 1: Copy the link from your Google Business Profile
This is the quickest way, and the one Google recommends.
- On a computer, sign in to the Google account that manages your business.
- Search Google for your business name. Your profile's management panel appears at the top of the results.
- Click Ask for reviews (on some accounts it's called Get more reviews).
- Copy the link that appears. It usually starts with
https://g.page/r/.
On a phone, open the Google Maps app, go to your business profile, and look for the same Ask for reviews option. Google moves these buttons around from time to time, so if you can't see them, look in the profile's menu.
Method 2: Build the link from your Place ID
If you can't find the button, you can build the link yourself.
- Open Google's Place ID Finder.
- Type your business name into the map's search box and pick your listing.
- Copy the Place ID it shows (a long code starting with letters like
ChIJ). - Put it at the end of this address:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID
Open the link in a browser to check it opens your review form before you share it.
Test your link
Before printing anything, test the link:
- Open it on your own phone, signed in to a personal Google account.
- Check it opens the review form for the right business and location.
- Try it on both an iPhone and an Android phone if you can.
If it opens the wrong branch, you've probably copied the link from a different location's profile.
Turn the link into a QR code
A QR code lets customers open your review link by pointing their phone camera at it. You can make one with any reputable QR code generator. Pick one that gives you a static code (the link is stored in the code itself) and lets you download a high-resolution PNG or SVG for printing.
For codes that scan reliably:
- Print the code at least 2–3 cm wide, larger on posters and counter signs.
- Keep it dark on a light background. Black on white scans best.
- Leave a blank margin around the code.
- Add a short call to action, like "Scan to review us on Google".
- Scan the printed code with a couple of phones before printing in bulk.
A better option: link to your own review page
A plain Google link works, but it has two weaknesses:
- If your Google link changes, every printed QR code and card points to the old link.
- You can't see which codes customers use, or hear privately from customers who had a bad experience.
With GatherRatings, your QR codes and NFC review cards open your own branded review page, like gatherratings.com/your-business. Customers tap a star and go straight to your Google review form. If your Google link ever changes, we update the page and every printed code keeps working. You also get:
- a separate page, QR code and link for each location
- printable signs in nine designs for table cards, counter signs and receipts, with your own wording
- tags that show which card, table or printout each rating came from
- a dashboard with your ratings, and private feedback from customers who rate 1 to 3 stars, who can still continue to Google
Where to share your review link
| Where | How |
|---|---|
| Tables and counter | QR code sign or NFC review card |
| Receipts and invoices | Small QR code with "Review us on Google" |
| After an appointment | WhatsApp or SMS message with the link |
| After an online order | A line in the delivery or thank-you email |
| Your website | A "Review us on Google" button in the footer |
| Email signature | A short text link |
Common problems
The link opens Google Maps but not the review form. Some phones open the Maps app first. The review form usually opens a moment later. If it doesn't, try the Place ID link from method 2.
Customers say they have to sign in. Google needs people to be signed in to a Google account to leave a review. Most Android users already are; some iPhone users may need to sign in once.
The review shows up later, or not at all. Google checks reviews before showing them, and it can filter reviews it thinks break its rules. Don't offer rewards for reviews, and don't ask customers to post from the same device or Wi-Fi in your shop.
